Sciatica represents pain affecting the back, hip and the outside part of the leg. It is usually caused by irritation of the nerve. Numbness and tingling are also very common signs of sciatica, and often make you stay in bed because you have a “deadly” pain. This nerve represents the largest nerve in the human body and it goes down on each leg from the spine, all the way to the foot, allowing for movement and sensation.
The most common symptoms of sciatica are: sharp pain and cramps. The feeling of tingling and numbness in the area of the buttocks, legs or feet usually accompany these symptoms. Overall, sciatica affects one side or the other, and never both feet simultaneously. Also, spinal injury or infection, degenerative disc disease, or spondylosis may appear. Many traditional treatments can be used for sciatica, but they only relieve pain temporarily.
These packs can be used to reduce pain caused by sciatica. This relaxes the muscles that may affect the nerve responsible for sciatica. Use a towel in hot / cold treatments. Hold it for about 15-20 minutes. Repeat every couple of hours, until the release of pain.
When you want to treat long-term pain, willow bark can be very effective. It is rich in glycosides that have analgesic properties. Put 50 grams of willow bark in 1 liter of water and leave it overnight. Cook it for 15 minutes the next day.
Take 3 cups of the drink every day.
Turmeric can also be used with sciatica. Take 1 teaspoon of turmeric and put it in a cup of milk, you can add a little cinnamon.
Boil this mixture. Sweeten with honey and take it once or twice a day. The pain will disappear.
