Best homemade mask for a face-lift – the recipe:
Cornstarch – 1 tbsp
Freshly squeezed carrot juice – 5 tablespoons (if you do not have a juicer, mix chopped carrots in a blender and strain them through the strainer).
Sour cream – 1 tbsp
How to prepare the mask:
Dissolve the cornstarch in half a glass of cold water.
Pour the cornstarch in small saucepan and add 100 ml of boiling water to it.
Put on the stove and cook over low heat until it gets thick.
After that, when the mixture is not so hot anymore, add freshly squeezed carrot juice and sour cream.
Mix it well and put it on a clean face, allowing it to stay for 25-30 minutes (it is best if you can exfoliate the face before putting the mask).
Rinse the mask with warm water and apply nourishing cream on your face.
Put the remaining amount of the mask in the refrigerator.
In order to have a better effect, put the mask three days in a row.
This mask hydrates well, removes the traces of fatigue and wrinkles, improves the skin, making it elastic and smooth.
Why does this work?
Cornstarch or just starch is the most common ingredient for face masks, due to its excellent absorption features and moisture retention.
Rich in beta carotene, carrots are a natural source of vitamin A, which has a number of advantages for our skin:
It is rich in antioxidants that slow the aging process of the skin – a natural anti – aging factor
Helps maintain skin moisture
Favors restoring skin cells
Cures acne – helps with wound healing and acne
Antiseptic property – boosts the immune system and prevents infections
Sour cream, like all fermented dairy products, contains lactic acid, which is essential for the beauty and health of skin. This is because it helps skin retain moisture, naturally does body scrub, and stimulates the production of collagen, which forms the connective tissue that supports the skin. Lactic acid is used in many skin care products.
The active ingredient in sour cream – lactic acid – is a type of alpha-hydroxy acid that exfoliates the skin by encouraging the production of new, young cells and reduces the appearance of wrinkles. But, as with all alpha-hydroxy agents, it can increase sensitivity of the skin when exposed to the sun, so make sure to stay out of the sun after treatment.
