The skin is the largest organ in the human body, and it reflects what is happening inside our bodies. The skin is like our coat, it protects us. Everything we do usually appears on our skin, what we eat, what we drink, how we feel, and so on. This is the best time to try natural facial masks.
Remember, this mask is surprising for your skin. However, you shouldn’t use it as exfoliation or apply it to other parts of the body. This homemade mask is very simple and easy to do, and you probably already have all the ingredients in the kitchen. Just follow the simple instructions and make this facial mask. Here are the instructions:
1 teaspoon honey (add more if you have sensitive skin)
½ teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Preparation and use:
- Combine all ingredients together into a paste.
Put this mask to your dry and clean face. So, before you use this homemade facial mask, wash your face and dry it. Put it on the face avoiding the area around the eyes and mouth. Leave it for 30 minutes … or at least 10 minutes if you cannot stand the burning sensation. The tingling will ease in the first 5 minutes, and then it will disappear. Then wash your face with warm water and dry it. If your facial skin is dry, apply a moisturizing cream or a little coconut oil.
If you have sensitive skin, dilute or omit the lemon. If you omit it, add a little more honey to the mixture so that it gets thick. Do not use this mask to exfoliate the skin. The mask is not recommended for people suffering from telangiectasias, rosacea, and other vascular skin diseases because the honey dilates the blood vessels. As a substitute for honey, you can use white or green clay. It should be mixed in the same proportions with the other ingredients of the mask, and it should be diluted with water to the desired texture.
Something about the ingredients of the mask:
Cinnamon acts antifungal, antiviral, and reduces the risk of diseases caused by bacteria. It contains a series of powerful antioxidant compounds and helps prevent premature destruction of healthy cells in the body and on the skin.
Nutmeg acts anti-inflammatory and will help the acne scars to disappear faster. It has been used since ancient times in folk medicine for many skin diseases, including eczema. Nutmeg is rich in many vitamins, B-complex, vitamin C, folic acid, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin A and many antioxidants such as beta-carotene and cryptoxanthin.
Honey has antibacterial and antifungal effects, and it disinfects and accelerates the healing of skin with acne. It absorbs dirt and helps in detoxifying the skin. It’s full of antioxidants that gets the skin glow back, hydrates and leaves the skin clean and soft.
Lemon is rich in vitamin C, and it builds collagen in the skin, which is required for tighter and rejuvenated skin. Lemon will soften and fade scars and dark spots, and give a radiant, luminous skin tone. The use of lemon makes the skin photosensitive, so get away from the sun after putting these masks.
