Heart diseases usually appear when the fatty substances in the inner walls of the coronary arteries interfere with blood flow in the muscles and tissues in the heart. This could also be related to genetics or the way of living. The heart is a pump as the size of a palm but actually with pumps it allows the circulating of oxygen through the body.
Through the blood vessels or arteries the blood travels to organs and returns to the heart through the veins. For proper work it is necessary the blood to circulate constantly and the heart attack actually happens when the coronary arteries are blocked with fatty deposits. They become coated with layer of substances who are formed from cholesterol over the past time. The process of blocking the arteries is also known as atherosclerosis.
The space is reduced by the arteries which the blood flows through and disrupts the flow of nutrients which means that the arteries lose their elasticity over time. It leads to high blood pressure and increases the risk of heart disease.
The same process happens with the arteries, if they are blocked the person may have chest pain that will spread as the heart struggles to resume normal operation despite the insufficient supply of oxygen. People with narrower arteries are much easier target for heart attack.
The genetic factors and the life we leave affects indeed in the risk of atherosclerosis. Actually the bad habits as unhealthy diet, insufficient physical activity and smoking increases the risk of these diseases. People with diabetes and high blood pressure have great chance of getting heart attack.
Why comes the heart attack?
The heart attack occurs when the arteries are completely blocked. This happens when the substance deposes on the artery walls and collapses. This causes form of a clot that completely blocks the flow of blood through the arteries so the heart cannot function normally anymore.
